Trotro Mate Boasts About His Earnings: “My Income Surpasses That of a Teacher in Ghana”
A commercial bus conductor, known as trotro mate in Ghanaian, has shared candid details about his work.
The trotro mate from Kumasi, who was speaking to Akomapa FM, asserted that his line of work pays better than some of his colleagues in white-collar occupations.
The troro mate absurdly claimed in a video that went viral on TikTok that his work was superior to teaching in Ghana, for example.
The trotro mate made this assertion because he earns more money than the typical Ghanaian instructor. In addition to his daily salary, which he stated ranges from GH¢80 to GH¢200, he mentioned receiving free transportation within his operational area and lunch money.

Because of this, the young man advised anyone without a job who has great numerical skills and interpersonal contact skills to think about applying to be a trot partner, as the position pays well.
“In this mate job, you will get free lunch, and free transportation to wherever you want to go/ So for this reason, I can confidently say that the mate job is better than teaching, because I earn more than them,” he stated.
