Ten years on, Castro’s father remains optimistic about son’s return

Castro’s father, Mr. Coffie Eshun, has stated that he firmly believes his son is still alive.

On July 6, 2014, Castro vanished in Ada while traveling with pals, including the legendary Ghanaian football player Asamoah Gyan, while riding a jet ski with his woman companion Janet Bandu.

There have been no results in the search for the two despite many efforts.

On Saturday, July 7, 2024, during an interview with Feeling Daddy on Empire FM’s Showbiz Today, Mr. Coffie was asked if he had accepted the possibility that his son might not live for another ten years.

Reacting that he had not given up, Mr. Coffie said, “With my faith, I believe he could be found.”
Additionally, he proposed that there may have been foul play engaged in his son’s disappearance

Castro, whose real name was Theophilus Tagoe, disappeared together with Janet Bandu at the Ada Estuary while on vacation with friends and Asamoah Gyan.

The day after their disappearance, the jet ski that was involved in the accident was found, but despite a police search, their remains were not.

The Evidence Act, 1975 (N.R.C.D. 323) states that a person is deemed dead if, after seven years, no communication is received from them despite efforts to locate them.

According to Section 33 of the Act, “Death after seven years’ absence,” “A person is presumed dead if, after making a sincere effort to locate them, they have not been heard from for seven years.” Regarding the specific moment that person passed away, there is no assumption.”
