Missing Dana Smithers Found Dead

Dana Smithers, who had been reported missing from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, has been located dead.

Dana Kristine Smithers’s body was located in Stroudsburg on Thursday, and her identity has been confirmed.

Thomas Yanac, the coroner for Monroe County, New York, performed the autopsy on Monday. A forensic odontologist analyzed dental records to assist determine the identify of some of the remains. The autopsy findings are still undergoing more testing.

Dana Smithers, a lady who went missing in 2023, was finally found dead on Thursday, April 27.
The Stroud Area Regional Police Department has stated that they are unable to ascertain a cause or manner of death at this time. The inquiry into the case is still ongoing.

Human remains were found in the forested area along the Park Avenue exit ramp from Interstate 80 East on Thursday, April 27 by a Stroudsburg Borough employee.

In 2022, Smithers was reported missing.

On May 28, 2022, at around 11:05 p.m., Smithers was last seen on surveillance camera leaving a friend’s house in Stroudsburg, not far from her home. She was reported missing on June 4, 2022.

Dana Smithers, my sister, has been located. Stacey Anne Smithers wrote on Facebook on Monday that while the family was disappointed, they were thankful for the help they received during the search.

Dana was a shining star, and we will all miss hearing her infectious laugh. My hope is that she will be especially protective of her children and our mother, but she will care for all of us. Let us mourn in peace, please. Thank you once more, everyone.
