Meet Teddy Horjor Tay, the Ghanaian who walked 2,000 kilometers from Ghana to Nigeria while carrying the Ukrainian flag as part of a global peace walk.
Teddy Horjor Tay is a Ghanaian who was conceived by a Togolese father and a Ghanaian mother.
His mother’s family is originally from Ogun state in Nigeria. His Yoruba grandmother was born in Nigeria.
The activist Teddy set out on a Global Peace Walk across West Africa. Teddy Horjor Tay walked a total of 2,000 kilometers in the first leg of his journey from Ghana to Nigeria via Togo, Benin, and the cities of Badagary and Semr on the border between the two countries.
Over the course of the Walk, he shot over three thousand photographs and more than one hundred short videos. Although he has carried the Ukrainian flag and at one point was covered in it, his goal throughout the Walk has been to promote peace between Ukraine and Russia as well as peace in all war zones and prosperity for all people.
Environmental threats are also brought to light throughout the Walk. Thus, it is also about raising environmental consciousness, as he documented the difficulties of garbage treatment and their impact on the natural world at all phases.
The next phase of the event, which will take place in Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, and The Gambia, will be launched under his direction. Over the course of the five stages, he will walk a total of 5,000 meters.
You can follow him on Tiktok for more videos and pictures covered during his en route to Nigeria. @peacewalk4all
