According to the unlicensed Marriage Counsellor, customarily, it is wrong for a man to marry a lady because the lady is already pregnant, describing men who do that as fools.

According to him, pregnancy shouldn’t be the basis on which one should get married and if John Dumelo took the decision to marry his wife because of the pregnancy, then he made a wrong decision and he will pay for it as time goes by.

He added that being “trapped” to marry a lady because she got pregnant had spiritual implications which are embedded in  Ghanaian tradition.

Counselor Lutterodt also added that many people he is aware are currently marrying their partners because they got pregnant along the line in the relationship and just decided to go through the marriage ceremony to cover up the embarrassment that may come up.

The controversial marriage counselor, however, stated that if John Dumelo did the needful by telling the relatives of the lady and paying the traditional fee for already making her pregnant before their marriage, then he will be saved from whatever effect of the action.

Counsellor Lutterodt’s comments follow an earlier report by Ghsplash.com that John Dumelo’s wife, Gifty Mawunya Nkorsu, had been delivered of a baby boy in October.

That makes it five months after their marriage, making people conclude that John Dumelo married her due to the pregnancy to cover up and embarrassment that may come up. John Dumelo and his wife tied the knot on May 12, 2018, at a private ceremony in Accra.
