I’ve written to the UN, ECOWAS, and other organizations seeking safety since I no longer feel safe – Bongo Ideas

Blogger and social media pundit Bongo Ideas claims that after being pulled up and allegedly abused, his safety is in jeopardy.

On March 13, Bongo Ideas was taken into custody by a group of guys posing as Ghana Police Service officers following remarks he made that were considered “disparaging” about President Akufo-Addo.

In an interview with Captain Smart on Onua Maakye on Wednesday, April 3, the blogger said he does not sleep at home at the moment because he feels dangerous. He went on to say that he has written to the UN, ECOWAS, and other human rights organizations requesting assurances of safety.

“I no longer even sleep at my house. I occasionally spend the night at guest houses, families, and friends’ homes. He continued, “I have written to Amnesty International, ECOWAS, the African Union, the United Nations, and other human rights organizations, but they have not responded to me yet.

Bongo Ideas emphasized that he won’t be guaranteed protection unless he finds himself in a highly guarded environment.

“I live in a gated neighborhood, or perhaps in a place that is unknown to the public. Even in Accra, I believe I should live in a safer neighborhood because my neighborhood is open, but it would be preferable if I could live in a well guarded area where I can be sure of my protection,” he continued.
