Government of Liberia shuts down social media amidst protest against the President
The Government of Liberia has shut down the various social media platforms in the country following a protest against the President.
George Opong Weah, the President of the country and his minister are the target of protests.
The Protesters have cited corruption in the government as the reason to protest but the government not wanting to be portrayed as corrupt in the face of the outside world, social media has been shut down.

Access to popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube is not possible in Liberia now lest the protesters broadcast the protest worldwide.
George Weah, a global football icon succeeded Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as the 25th President of Liberia in 2018.
