Ghana Police provide buses to convey stranded passengers amidst Trotro strike

The Ghana Police Service came to the aid of stranded passengers in wake of the commercial drivers strike today.

As workers got stranded at the various Trotro stations and bus stops, the police came to the aid of some.

The police moved some of the buses to Kwame Nkrumah Circle to bus stranded passengers to Kasoa.

Aside the free transport, the police gave the lucky passengers bottled water to quench their thirst.

In other news, the government has called leaders of the various transport unions to a meeting to discuss their demands.

A leading member of the Coalition of Transport Operators, Ibrahim Musa, disclosed to Alfred Ocansey on the Sunrise show on 3FM Monday December 6 that “there was a purported communication from the Chief of Staff that the strike be suspended because the President wants to intervene , and that the President would want to meet the coalition”.

It’s unknown whether the strike will continue tomorrow or the drivers will call it off ahead of their meeting with government.
