Ghana have issued over 750,000 visas for the Year of Return

The Year of Return Secretariat has revealed that the country have issued over 750,000 visas in the year 2019.

The 750,000 visa issued counts from January 1s 2019 to November as stated by the secretariat during an event yesterday.

The number is astronomical compared to last year’s figures of 80,000.

The year 2019 marks exactly 400 years since the first slave ship left the shores of the then Goldcoast now Ghana to the American continent.

In view of this historical facts, the year has been declared as Year of Return with the President of Ghana extending invitation to Black diaspora across the globe to return to Ghana.
