Ghana Division One: Fans Chase Referee, Bɛat Him For Awarding Penalty To RTU (Video)
The Zone 1, National Division One League game between B.A United and Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Sunyani Coronation Park was marred by hooliganism.
Fans at the stadium believed to cheering the home team, chased the center referee, Maxwell Hanson to beat him when he awarded the away side, RTU a penalty.
He was beaten to pulp but strangely he didn’t end the game.

The center referee continued the game but disallowed the earlier penalty be awarded which got him the beating.
Few minutes after the game resumed, fans believed to be RTU fans started throwing stones to the pitch in disagreement to the referee’s decision to disallow the penalty

The game is very crucial to Bofoakwa, the rivals of B.A United who are in a strong battle with RTU for the 1st place on the League Table.
Before this weekend’s games, RTU were top of the table with 53 points with Bofoakwa having 52 points.
