Football Legend Michael Essien Puts His Two Opulent Mansions Up for Sale in East Legon and Trassaco

According to rumors, Michael Essien, a former midfielder for Chelsea and the Black Stars, has listed his two homes in East Legon and Trassaco for auction.

On June 12, 2024, the Deputy Sheriff of the Commercial Division of the High Court issued the order for the properties to be sold.

House Number 9, House Number 204/205 in Trassaco (Phase 2) Adjiringano, and Stephen Quarshie Crescent in East Legon are the addresses of the residences, which are all in Accra.

One of the properties is estimated to be worth between $20 million and $30 million, according to an unidentified auctioneer.

During his tenure at Chelsea, AC Milan, Bastia, and Real Madrid, Essien—also known as the Bull or the Bison—was a highly compensated athlete.

Essien decided to sell off his houses, which were previously emblems of his football success, due to his financial difficulties.

On the field, it stands in sharp contrast to his heyday, when he was regarded as one of the world’s top midfielders.

With the sale of his homes, Essien’s life enters a new phase in which he must overcome obstacles off the field that he was never exposed to during his brilliant playing career.
