Dr Sonnie Badu has refuted claims that he sold his Rolex watch to fund his Rhythm Of Africa concert.

Gospel Minister Sonnie Badu has explained how he funded the Rhythm Of Africa concert with almost $180,000.

After the successful event, there were reports in the media that he sold his Rolex watch to fund the concert.

The question was put to him on Okay Fm by MzGee and he gave a good explanation to the Rolex watch reportage.

Sonnie Badu explained that he said “last minute he had to sell his Rolex watch to add up to the funding”.

Meaning the whole show which costed him almost $180,000 wasn’t funded by proceeds of the Rolex watch but it supplemented it when he ran out of money because people who pledged to support disappointed him.

According to Sonnie Badu, Dr Kwaku Oteng promised to sponsor the concert but when he called him, he didn’t answer his calls.

He explained that he met the businessman in USA, they took pictures and he made the pledge only to ghost on him when the time was due for him to give the money he promised.
