Christiana Awuni: Mahama’s legacy in Ghana is undeniable, unless you’re blinded by bias

Christiana Awuni, a Kumawood actress, has remarked that only a blind person could claim that John Mahama brought no development to Ghana during his presidency.

The actress has been making news for her support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

During an appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz, she stated Mahama had a perfect track record in terms of development, which includes the construction of schools and hospitals.

She claimed that if the NDC presidential candidate is elected in December, he will accomplish more.

“You must be blind to believe that John Mahama done nothing for Ghana. Only those with good eyes can perceive what John Mahama accomplished for our country, which we also witnessed.

But when this man was elected president, we expected him to accomplish more than John Mahama. His performance is zero percent. He established schools, and Mahama created the majority of notable hospitals.

“Look at the dollar under this government and compare it to Mahama’s tenure,” she stated.
In response to a query on whether Mahama supported the creative industry, she said the former president laid out plans to help it, but his ideas were challenged by some NPP producers in the movie industry.

Mahama intended to do something for the artistic industry. He greeted us and asked for our requests. We expressed our concerns, and he offered to build an office, get us a bus, and give a location where foreigners could view the films we produced. He was about to, but several people objected to his ideas. “These producers said they would not accept anything from Mahama,” she explained.
