Accra Underwater: City Floods After Heavy Rainfall on Wednesday

Following a downpour on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, certain areas of Accra experienced flooding once more.

Widespread disruption resulted from the heavy downpour blocking traffic on main roadways.

Important routes that travel via Shangri-La and Shiashie from the airport have been badly impacted, creating heavy traffic.

The impacted locations also include Tantra Hill, Adabraka Sahara, the stretch of road between Ofankor and Pokuase, the Accra-Tema expressway, and Kaneshie First Light.

Major roadways are waterlogged and impassable as a result of the flooding’ severe effects on businesses and motorists.

Some commuters cautiously drove through the flood that covered the majority of the road, while many parked their cars to wait for the rain to stop.

In order to prevent water damage to their engines, some car owners have parked their vehicles and many shops have closed.
