A musical concert with Shatta Wale opened our eyes to be business minded in the industry – Paedae

Omar Sterling of the music group, R2bees has narrated a story on how they became business minded in the music industry.

According to Paedae, R2bees used to take  music as a mere hobby until an incident in Cape Coast changed their their mindset.

Narrating the story on Joy Fm, Paedae they were paid GH₵400 (old 4 Million) for a performance at a show in Cape Coast.

That was their first ever show after dropping their debut hit song, ‘Yawa Girl’.

“I remember our first show was at Cape Coast and it was with Shatta Wale but then he was called Bandana and we were paid 4 million Ghana cedis.”
 “That’s when we realized we had to to take the music thing serious. “Yawa Girl” was hard but we decided to do more commercial songs.”

R2bees since their debut single in 2008 have become not just top Ghanaian music group but one of the best in Africa.
